Where is the...?

Anna Dixon is getting quite good at hiding things these days. Let's see...I found several of her toys in Tommy's sock drawer...a couple of her pacifiers in the drawer of the entertainment center...the remote control and two puzzle pieces in the desk drawer. But, my all time favorite was the other day when Tommy went to put on his shoes and found a pacifier in the toe of each one! She is a cute little mess!!

On the developmental front AD took her first independent steps yesterday in the dressing room of Ann Taylor Loft when her cousin, Samuel, coaxed her with some fruity cheerios! I think she will be walking very soon...oh boy!

Here are some recent pictures of our little mess...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year....finally!

We had a great Christmas and a very low key New Year, but life has been pretty busy since then. Hence the reason it is January the 16th, and I'm just now posting about the holidays. My whole family came to visit us for Christmas, and we had a blast! We ate Christmas eve dinner at our house, and on Christmas day we headed to my sister's house after church for lunch and to open gifts with the family. On Christmas Eve we went to the "family" service, and I thought it would be so fun to take Anna Dixon in with us. Well about 5 or 10 minutes in she found her voice and decided to scream at the top of her lungs whenever I tried to take anything away from her. So, we headed to the nursery after all, and we weren't the only ones either. I had plenty of company on the way to the nursery of parents who changed their minds mid service too. Oh well maybe next year!

Before church on Christmas day, AD opened her gifts from Santa and us. I just remember laughing last year as I opened her stocking while she slept on Tommy's shoulder. She was much more engaged this year.  Her new xylophone from Santa was definitely the favorite of the morning. She kept going back to it and occasionally looking at herself in the bath mirror that she also go in her stocking. That afternoon at my sister's her pile of loot grew very large. Now I'm trying to work out some storage solutions for our den closet to house all the toys she got for Christmas and her birthday. We are just so blessed to have so many people who love our little bunnykins!

New years eve was much less eventful. We headed to our friends, Mitchell's and Gigi's, house for pizza but headed home around 8:00 to get AD in bed. Tommy and I were both in bed long before midnight, and I woke up about 10 seconds before 12:00 to say Happy New Year and get a little kiss. I hope 2012 is going well so far for all of you! Here are some pictures of the holiday...

AD's 1st Birthday Caterpillar Crawl

Well here are the pictures of Anna Dixon's party...finally. It was a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme and a family affair, but I think she had a blast. She was a bit timid with her cake a first, but as you will see from the pictures she very much enjoyed it in the end. She was also pretty oblivious while we were opening gifts but soon realized that they were all for her and dug right in! I can't believe my baby girl is 1 year already!!

Happy Birthday to the Bunnykins!!!

I can't believe that our little bunnykins will be 1 year old tomorrow! Anna Dixon is such a precious blessing and is growing so fast! Looking back through pictures from this past year, it is amazing to see how much she has changed. She has grown from a tiny little bundle into a baby on the move. She is not walking yet but is cruising like crazy. This past weekend we celebrated "Anna Dixon's 1st Birthday Caterpillar Crawl" with our family. Of course I have a lot of picture to post from the party, but today I want to post this video that sweet Tommy did of Anna Dixon's 1st year...enjoy!

Trick or Treat! (better late than never)

Yes, I am just now doing a Halloween post...but hey at least it is not quite Thanksgiving week yet! Anna Dixon was a garden gnome for Halloween, and a pretty cute one at that if I do say so! The most amazing thing was that she kept her hat on all night long! As is our tradition, we trick-or-treated with our friends, Mitchell and Gigi, and our god daughter, Anna Holt. They were a cute skeleton family. Garden gnomes bring in a lot of candy! Unfortunately, our golden retriever, Sadler, consumed ALL of our candy while we were out one day. Since she apparently has a stomach of steel, she is fine.

A Pumpkin for Our Little Pumpkin

Last weekend we went to the pumpkin patch with our friends, Mitchell and Gigi, and our god daughter, Anna Holt. Anna Dixon and Anna Holt are about 6 months apart, so we are hoping that they will grow up being big buddies. AD was not sure about the pumpkin patch. Although, it may have had something to do with the lack of a nap. We took a hay ride out to the patch where interestingly some of the pumpkins grew out of the ground with price tags on them...hmmm? Oh well, we had a lot of fun anyway. In the end, we found the perfect pumpkin for our little pumpkin!
